Abstract | An Indenture made between the Overseers of the Poor and Rebecca Copes (widow of Revil) to carry out an order made in County Court dated 2 September 1818 to bind Ephraim Johnson (a free Negro) orphan of Jacob Lilliston until the age of twenty one, unto Rebecca Copes who will provide sufficient Meat, Drink, Washing, Lodging, Wearing Apparel, teach him reading, writing and arithmetic and the trade of a House Carpenter & Joiner pay him Twelve Dollars at the expiration of the said time. |
