Bachelor of Diviity at Gammons Theological Seminary; pastorate of a Methodist Episcopal Church in Raleigh, N.C., then served in Greensboro N.C. In 1893 transferred to Delaware Conference. Charges: Newark, N.J.; Bainbridge Street, Philadelphia; Principal of Princess Anne Academy; Wilimington, Del.; District Superintendent of Salisbury District. Professor in Howard University in 1911 then to Gammon Theological Seminary & Cory M.E. Church in Cleveland, Ohio. Then headed Dept. of History in 1920. Matriculated in Graduate School of University of Pennsylvania & earned Doctorate of Philosophy in 1893.
Family and Other Information Parents: Richard & Angeline O'Connell. Spouse: Maria Jane Johnson on 10/24/1888. Wife & adopted daughter survive him.
