Church Service, Charges Served, Affiliated Locations, and Other Biographical Information | One of founders of Delaware Conference. Converted 1839 at Deal's Island campground & joined church in Fairmount, Md which met in gallery of church while white people occupied body of church. During the time when colored men could not have a book in his possession, he acquired what was called a good education. Licensed as local preacher in 1847 at a time when all ministers in Quarterly Conference were white. Charges: Upper Fairmount, Quantico, Snow Hill, East New Market, Laurel, DE, Kent Island. Superannuated 1880 due to health. |
