Description | Bill of Sale of Sally Pollitt, of Salisbury, in Somerset, to Isaac Cathell, alias Burroughs, free man of color, of Worcester; Isaac, at his own expense, raising & clothing his children, namely Milly (age about 14 years), William (age about 12 years), Milton (age about 10 years), Peter (age about 8 years) & James (age about 1 year), all issue of his sickly wife, Tamar (age about 36 years), negro woman belonging to Pollitt; Isaac agrees to the yearly hire of Milly, William, Milton & James by Pollitt, who retains absolute control of 4 named children and, at her death, control passes to Isaac; Tamar and James become absolute property of Isaac at present date |
