| Text | Orphans Court appoints John Dashiell Sr. and Levin Jones Sr. appraisers to view and report on the real estte of James Jones, orphan, in the care of George Jones (of Robt), his guardian. 10 Feb 1806 apparisers report that from information from the guardian there is neither workbeasts, farming utensils or stock of any kind on the plantation belonging to the orphan; there is one old dwelling house 45 feet by 16 with a stack of brick chimneys not worth repairing, one other dwelling house 22 by 18 a brick gable end with an addition of 10 feet added to the other end, in tolerbly good repair, one old kitchet 18 by 18 with a brick gable end good for nothing, one old Quarter 24 by 16 with an inside chimney of brick, run up since the last valuation, one milk house of pine frame and cover in tolerable good repair, one good corn house 18 by 7 feet, one old smoak house, two milk houses, one old lumber house 20 by 20, one other old house good for nothing, a small garden, 175 old apple trees, many of them on the decline 31 young apple trees, 160 old peach trees on the decline and 70 young peach trees, 9 cherry trees and one pare tree and that the enclosure are in as good repair as can be expected from the scarcety of timber belonging to the plantation. It is further reported that negroes owned are Rose, aged 65 year, Nicey, aged 26, Hannah age 5 Spencer 6 months, Ephraim 38 years, Leah 9 years and 25 or 30 acres of woodland. |
