Cottman and Joseph Cottman, orphans in the care of Esther Cottman, their gueardian. 27 April 1815 appraisers report slaves Joseph, Levin, Peter, Clem, Huett, Aron, Bale, Nutter, Littleton, Dick, Isaac, Mingo, Jack, Charles, George, Meshack, Simon, Shadrack, Samson, Henry, Daniel, Caleb, Smith, Morris, Bridget, Jane, Led, Lidia, Ross, Flora, Nancy, Maria, Hannah, Elizer, Ebbe, Sarah, Emme, Scharlott, annual value $540. There are on the farm on Wicomico creek one dwelling house story and a half of wood with two brick chimneys in good repair, cook house and collenade in good repair, one new quarter with a stack chimney in good repair two old quarters, one barn in tolerable good repair, a garden and hard in good repair, one old corn house in good repair and there are one old and young apple orchard each, a large peach orchard in decline, 200 acres of the farm in woodland, annual value of two thirds of said farm $220. there are on the farm at Pocomoke one old dwelling house in bad repair, one old quarter in bad repair, one barn in tolerable order, three old wattled gardens in bad repair, apple and peach orchard in bad declining state, annual value of two thirds of the farm at $133. |
