Abstract of Record | Divison of negroes from estate of John J. Smith, deceased. Distributions, names & values follow. Allotted to the widow: man James (value $400), girl Ara ($175). To John W. Smith: man George ($100). To Elias W Smith: woman Agnes: $750. To Samuel B. Smith: boy James $70. To Sarah A. Smith: girl Harriett ($75). To Susan J. Smith: boy Frances (value $750). To James Parker Smith: boy George (value $500). Monies exchange among heirs to balance values received. Also stated that the division is the only one the apparaisers can make of the negroes of John J. Smith between his representatives and think it is better for all the parties concerned than for a sale of the negroes to take place. They also note that the one eighth part of the widow mentioned within the Division made in consequence of the death of Isaac T. Smith since the death of his father John; having to do with dividing with the widow and his seven surviving brothers and sisters equity. |
