Abstract of Record | Division of negroes from estate belonging to the children of Spence Todd, deceased. Distributions, names & values follow. To Eliza AnnTodd (now Eliza Ann Davis): man Jacob, boy James (value $725). To Alexander Hamilton Todd and Robert Spencer Todd: man Caleb, girl Sally, boy Spencer, boy John, boy Henry (value $1300). Division is equitable; all negroes in second division with exception of Caleb are small. It's recommended that the division between Alexander and Robert remain in the hands of the guardian until a more equal divison of the negroes between Alexander and Robert. Sale of the negroes would not be proper or advisable. |
