Abstract of Record | Division of negroes from estate of Robert Walter, deceased. Appraisers placed the 12 negroes into 3 lots to best divide the values. The widow drew in lottery the first number as her dower, other heirs drew lottery to divide negroes. The negroes listed are shown here with ages & allotted values: Joe 68 yo $20, Betsy 55 yo $50, Tamer 40 yo $150, Bridget 38 yo $200, Samuel 29 yo $600, Handy 18 yo $550, Peter 13 yo $450, Davy 12 yo, $450, Ann 8 yo $200, Amanda 12 yo $25 (diseased), Betsy 5 yo $150, Rebecca 3 yo $125.
