| Abstract of Record | Leah Jones, now Leah Ruckle, administratix of James Jones, has exhibited account for board & clothes of the orphan children of the deceased to an amount considerably beyond the profit of the estate. Plus, 2 negro children have been born since the death of the deceased, & raised at expense of administor. Court has ordered that the persons appointed to make division of negroes should allott and pay to administratrix those negro children as remuneration for the money disbursed in raising them & in boarding & educating the children of the deceased. Other distributions, names & values follow. Also given to the widow: negro man Bob aged 43 years (value $200), negro woman Leah 27 yo ($200), & negro girl Sophiah 5 yo ($100) Total $500. To Gertrude Jones, daughter of the deceased: negro boy Robert 8 yo ($150). To Sarah Ann Jones: daughter of deceased: negro girl Lovey 9 yo ($150). To Elmira Jones, daughter of deceased: negro boy Spencer 19 yo ($300). Estimated value of negroes $1225, making each child['s part $255.20 3/4 . Monies exchanged among heirs to balance values. |
