Abstract of Record | George [surname not given], coloured child 14 yo on 6 Nov last (who was manumitted by Isaac Johnson by deed of manumission in 1819. George was sold by said Johnson to Revell Evans until he arrives at age of 20 and was then entitled to his freedom as per deed of manumission. George was afterwards sold by the heirs of said Evans to William Tyler to be entitled to his freedom as before mentioned the said Tyler on 17th of this month sold him to a negro purchaser for life, by which act George, according to the act of Assembly, became entitled to his freedom). George was appenticed to Isaac Johnson, farmer until he 21 yo. George to receive 6 mos of schooling & to be taught the art of farming. When free of apprenticeship to receive suit of clothes worth $5 or that amount in current money. |
