Abstract 2 servant boys Ervin & Harison, also the girls Cora, Clara & Alice. It is my desire that all my servants shall enjoy their liberty. I truly regret that the laws of our state are such that these poor creatures are not permitted to remain in the state of Maryland after receiving their liberty. I hope the day will soon arrive when our legislture will will repeal this arbitrary law. My will is that each and every one of my servants shall enjoy their liberty on the 1st day of January in the following years: Alice, 1848, Ervin 1854, Cora 1856, Manuel 1865, Amelia 1864, Hanson 1870, Lloyd 1868, Clara 1871. My will also is that all hereafter to be born of any of my servants their issue or offspiring during their servitude shall in like manner be free and at their liberty on the 1st day of January after they respectively arrive to age of 25.
