Abstract all negroes not devised to be sold, I wish families to be sold together, if it can be done and every care to prevent the purchaser to carry the poor creatures away to distant parts. Such of my negroes that are to be sold as shall be superannuated or otherwise incapable of work i leave to he humanity of my nephew Benjamin Chew Jr., being convinced he will have proper care taken of them for the few years they may live. My slaves I set free after their servitude, my woman Mary who lives with Mrs. Holliday after years and her child as soon as he is 25. My negro man Jack now one of my house servants free after 7 yrs. Negro woman Charlotte now also one of my house servants to be free after 6 yrs. My faithful man Richard now also my house servant I set free immediately & give him $200 to maintain himself and his family and all my wearing appparel.
