Black Individuals Mentioned in Will Wife to hae Negro man Jerry to serve for the term of 8 years form testator's deces and then to be free - "provided that he behaves himself but if he should not conduct himself in a proper manne" then to be a slave for life.. Jethro - negro man- to be free from teh day of testator's decease. Negroes - not already disposed of - to be free at the age of 35 on the condition that they behave themselves in a proper manner, if not then to be slaves for life.To Dr. Benjamin B. Harris: whereas testator has a bill of sale from Harrison for a Negro woman and 2 children which has been recorded in the Circuit Court of Dorchester and since that time has had 2 other chilren which "I can sell the same provided that the said Dr. Benjamin B. Harrison pay all the money with the interest and cost therein" within the 18 months after testator's decease and if not paid in that time then the bill of sale is in full force and the woman and children are to go into testator's estate and divided equally between testator's heirs. Note: the will was contested and several depositions taken regarding it.
