Executor of will. Instructed to sell all those Negroes not mentioned either as legacies or as left left to care & management of testator's son & daughter. Executor cautioned that he should "pay due regard under a just sense of humanity and a sound discretion to their future comfortable condition in life and as far as it can be done and with that view I authorize him to dispose of them at a private sale, if he shall think that course best and in families as far as may be practicable even at diminished price". Executor instructed to pay testator's debts out of the sale of the remainder of Negroes and other items mentioned. To have Negroes: Old Dick & Fanny, his wife; Joe Roberts & Maria his wife and their children - Juliet, Fanny, James & Edward; Peter and Betsy his wife; Jesse and Dolly and their children Littleton & Nancy; Joe Bell & his wife Dianah & their children Leah, Joe, Rhoda, Stephen & Bill; Abe Cole & Alice his wife & their child Rose Ann; Charles fromShoal Creek & Araminta his wife & their children Solomon & Charles; Old Ibby & a man Abraham Cooper her son; a man named John & Mary his wife, daughter of Ibby and also to have Henry and Louisa - children of John & Mary; Ibo & Gabriel belonging to Horn Point and to have the following men belonging to Shoal Creek: Ibo, Adam , a lad named Little Bill and a boy Edward. To have Negro boy Joe, son of old Joe Nicols to serve as a body Servant. Whereas testator has left William a larger share of estate than his younger brothers and sisters, then testator charges William with the care and support of Old Jacob Willlims, Old Daphna and any other of testator's people not before mentioned who are or may become destitute & incapable of supporting themselves.
