Abstract James E. Bishop, 16 yo on 1 May next, son of Maria Bishop, free Negro & with her approbation, he is bound as apprentice to Elijah M. Gordy to learn trade of a farmer until he is 21 yo. He is to receive sufficient meat, drink, clothing & lodging during apprenticeship & at expiration of term to receive 2 suits of wearing apparel, 1 for Sundays other for working days & $20 in cash.
