by Thompson, Kathleen (1953 – 1954)
1 box (0.5 linear feet)
This diary and scrapbook was created by Kathleen "Kay" Thompson between 1953 and 1954 while she was a student at Austin Peay State College in Clarksville, Tennessee. The scrapbook documents her college life and activities, including theatre productions and running for student government. Her diary, which was written in 1953, contains entries about dating, attending parties, friends' engagements, and emotional drama, most of which was caused by her on and off relationship with Bobby Ellis, her future husband. At one point, Bobby discovered that his friend "Jimmie" proposed to Kay. There is also one envelope containing photographs.
