Abstract of Record Indenture between John Rider and John D. Brown, Justices of the Peace, and Daniel Jackson, free coloured man and labourer, binding William Leonard, 12 yo on 26 June 1840, coloured boy, son of Rose Leonard, free coloured woman, as apprentice to Daniel Jackson, with consent of William and Rose, until 26 June 1849, when he will be 21 yo. William to work at anything that Jackson shall put him at in manner of an apprentice. At expiration of term, to receive 2 suits of wearing apparel, one suitable for Sundays and the other for working days.
