Abstract William Duffey, 12 yo on 17 May next, son of Mariah Martin [free Negro woman] of indigent circumstances, and with her approbation is bound as apprentice until 17 May 1859 until 21 yo, to Joseph E. Godfrey to learn trade of farming. He is to receive sufficient meat, drink, clothing, & lodging. At the end of term he is to receive 2 suits of wearing apparel, 1 suitable for Sundays and the other for working days.
