Abstract Major Purnell, Negro boy 12 yo on 29 August last, comes into Court & is represented that he is not at service or learning a trade or employed in service of his parents. He is bound as an apprentice to Robert Dryden until Purnell is 21 yo & is to learn the trade of a farmer. He is to receive suitable clothing & maintenance during apprenticeship & when free to receive suit of clothes worth $15 & $10 in cash.
