Abstract John W. Armstrong, Negro boy who on 10 August next will be 10 yo, the son of Scharlott Armstrong, Negro woman of indigent circumstances & with her approbation, is bound to Isaac Burbage, farmer, until John is 21 yo on 10 Aug 1861, to learn art of farming. John is to receive sufficient meat, drink, clothing, lodging during apprenticeship & at end of term to receive 2 sets of wearing apparel - 1 suitable for Sundays & other for working days worth $15 or this amount in cash. Includes notation of agreement from mother.
