Ballard, free Negro, 12 yo on 1 July next, son of Mary Ballard, free Negro of indigent circumstances & with her approbation, bound as apprentice to Edward Conner until 1 Jul 1860 when 21 yo, to learn art of farming. To be supplied with sufficient meat, drink, clothing, & lodging during apprenticeship & at its expiration to receive wearing apparel to cost $25 or $25 in cash. Includes notation from mother agreeing to indenture.
