Abstract John Allen [boy] of colour, orphan aged 14 on 31 Jan last, and with the consent of his grandmother Patience Williams, is bound as apprentice until 21 yo to James H. Tull, farmer, to learn art of farming. He is to receive sufficient meat, drink, clothes & lodging during apprenticeship & when free to receive clothes worth $20 or that amount in currency as appprentice chooses. Notation of approval from grandmother included.
