| Abstract | George Balch, 15 yo on 13 September next is bound out as an apprentice by the Justices of the Peace to farmer Zadock. George is the son of Joseph Balch, a slave, and his mother was a free Negro woman who is now dead. With consent of his fateher he is apprenticed to learn the trade of farming until he is 21 on 13 Sep 1856. He is to receive sufficient meat, drink, clothing, & lodging during his term and at its expiration to receive 2 suits of wearing apparel, 1 for Sundays 7 other for working days & the sum of $20. |
