1988 to 1992
The Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture (RCDHAC) was established in 1988 from the merger of the Delmarva Historical Archives Center (est. 1982) and the Folklore Archives (est. 1968) at Salisbury University. This would mark the first move of the Center to larger office space on the second floor of Holloway Hall (170 square feet) which included a reception area, workroom, and reading room. At this time, a budget of $5000 was given to the Center which had previously been supported by the History Department. In 1992, the Center moved once again to the Power Professional Building, increasing the amount of space available (2300 square feet) for the growing collections and artifacts, as well as increasing staff and graduate assistants.
