Caroline placed her son, Thomas Hives (free negro) 6 yo on 26 Aug next, as an apprenctice to Edward K Horsey to learn art of farming until 26 Aug 1852 when he will be 21 yo. When free to he to receive suit of clothes worth $10 or that sum in current money.
